Wimbledon is back from Monday 3rd July – Sunday 16th July and one thing’s for sure, we’re all about to go tennis crazy for a fortnight. Qualifying matches took place from Monday 26th June to Thursday 29th June and there has already been hot speculation as to who will be the winner for Wimbledon 2017. Whilst the competition gets tougher every year, the name on everyone’s lips for 2017 seems to be Roger Federer who has set his sights on an 8th Wimbledon title this summer. After missing the final six months of the last season with a knee injury, talented Federer has gone from strength to strength, setting victory over Rafael Nadal in the current season. The 35-year old commented: “Wimbledon has to be the biggest goal now…the second part of the season is the big priority. My knee was strange on the clay last year so maybe being away from it as much as possible is a good thing as well, even though I don’t think it was because of the clay as such. I feel very comfortable, very confident it is the right decision.” The Swiss professional tennis player has often been called the greatest male tennis player of all time.
