Few people enjoy cleaning but for a happy home and healthy mind, a clutter and mess-free house is the only way forward. Take it easy – The sparkling houses that adorn glossy magazines are not real and remember that when you popped into your neighbour’s, they had probably spent the previous few hours preparing. Set realistic goals and instead of telling yourself you will clean the whole house, aim to get 2 rooms clean. By doing small cleaning jobs often, you’ll stay on top of the task and your house will look presentable at all times. Eliminate kitchen mess – Endless dishes, dirty pots, bins over spilling and drink cartons left on the side - whilst we all agree that Image credit: Svet_Feo/Shutterstock.com cleaning the kitchen is a chore, if you avoid it, it only gets worse. Clear clutter – Clutter is the bane of any homeowner’s life. By clearing this away before it has a chance to build up, you are already one step ahead of the game. Tidy shoes from the hallway, dishes from the kitchen side and always sort through mail. Invest in candles – A nice smell is one of the easiest ways to create the sense of cleanliness. As well as this, get the windows open and allow fresh air to breath life into your property. Never walk past something – There are bound to be things left out but if you get into the mind-set of putting everything in its own place
