American actor Mark Wahlberg may have developed a drug addiction at the age of 13 becoming involved in a life of crime and conviction but the 46-year-old is now a respected entertainer who shocked everyone when he transitioned from unruly teenager to Hollywood actor. Mark, who celebrated his birthday on 5th June, first began his career in a band before appearing in films such as Boogie Nights and Three Kings. The talented father of four then went on to star in a number of popular flicks including Planet of the Apes, The Italian Job and The Departed. Having received numerous award nominations, Mark has since starred in Ted and The Other Guys. One of his most notable performances is as Cade Yeager in the science fiction action film Transformers: Age of Extinction. What’s more, it’s this role that he will reprise in his next film. On 23rd June, the next installment in the Transformers film series will be released. Transformers: The Last Knight is a film based on the toy line created by Hasbro and is the 5th film in the installment. A direct sequel to 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction, the film will star Mark as Cade alongside Stanley Tucci and Laura Haddock to name a few. The plot is centred on the absence of Optimus Prime. As a result of this, a war has commenced between the human race and the Transformers. To save their world, Cade forms an alliance to learn the secrets of why the Transformers keep coming back to Earth. As well as an extensive music and film career, Mark has been executive producer on four TV series including Entourage from 2004 – 2011. It’s no surprise then that in July 2010, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Whilst he is famous for playing tough, no nonsense characters that could be a nod to his past, Mark only has one goal in life. “I pray to be a good servant to God, a father, a husband, a son, a friend, a brother, an uncle, a good neighbour, a good leader to those who look up to me, a good follower to those who are serving God and doing the right thing.” “I did a lot of things that I regretted and I certainly paid for my mistakes. You have to go and ask for forgiveness and it wasn’t until I really started doing good and doing right, by other people as well as myself, that I really started to feel that guilt go away.” Fans will also be pleased to hear that Mark is currently filming Daddy’s Home 2, a follow up to the popular 2015 comedy.
